Inside the simple blue wrapper of Duffy’s Honduras Indio Rojo lies a jewel. The deep, glossy finish and clean ‘snap’ when you break a piece are signs of a truly great chocolate maker.
Created by Duffy Sheardown, one of only a handful of artisan chocolate makers in the UK, the chocolate has a full bodied and intense flavour with a fruity edge.
This chocolate was awarded the “Golden Bean” award for the best bean to bar dark chocolate in the world at the 2011 Academy of Chocolate Awards. It has since gone on to win other awards, including a silver medal in this year’s European round of the International Chocolate Awards. It remains one of our all time favourite dark chocolates, and a bar we think everyone should try.
