Description

About the Brewer

71 Brewing is Dundee’s first brewery in 50 years, reviving the lost art of brewing in Scotland’s coastal city. 71 Brewing focuses on crafting crisp lagers and seasonal beers inspired by traditional European classics and progressive new world flavours.
The home of 71 Brewing is a former ironworks, standing tall in the heart of the area known as ‘Hell’s Half Acre’. Once a powerhouse of production that churned out thick black smoke and world-class metalwork in equal measure. The iron and smoke have since been replaced by gleaming steel vessels and clean steam power, now producing nothing but craft beer.

Tasting Notes

The Après Apricot is a session pale ale made with pure apricot, and citrus hops. It’s hazy, fruity and tart with a delicate bitterness. This pale ale is a smooth and easy drinking beer, and a brand new release for Winter 2019.

Pairing Suggestion

Find a fudgy-noted dark milk chocolate, something that will play very nicely with the floral and bright apricot flavours of the beer. The hoppy bitterness should provided a balance and complexity to what might otherwise be a relatively, rich sweet chocolate. We suggest TCHO’s Dark Milk Chocolate or TCHO’s Classic Milk Chocolate.
