As Seen on Sunday Brunch: Veganuary | 3rd January 2021
This collection features three craft chocolate bars as featured on Channel 4’s Sunday Brunch on Sunday 3rd January 2021.
In this collection you can discover three single-origin vegan chocolate bars tasted on the TV show by Spencer with Simon Rimmer, Tim Lovejoy and guests. These three bars have all been crafted from the highest quality ingredients by skilled artisan chocolate makers.
Tasting Notes of the Bars
First up we have Marou’s Coconut Milk bar. To taste, we found the bar to have a deliciously rich and fudgy mouthfeel. The coconut milk beautifully compliments the spicy flavour profile of the Ben Tre cocoa by adding a fruity layer with added notes of raisin.

Next we have a cinnamon-flavoured bar from Taza. The minimal processing involved in creating Taza’s stone-ground chocolate gives a finished product with a satisfyingly coarse, almost biscuity texture and a sweet flavour that lets you taste the bold flavours of the cocoa, sugar and spices individually. We love this cinnamon, 50% dark version for its gently warming flavour that always leaves us wanting more. This is a particular favourite on a cold winter’s evening.

And finally we have this special bar from Brooklyn-based maker Raaka. It’s an intense, earthy unroasted chocolate with some complex floral notes and the distinctive bourbon flavour. But this chocolate does not actually contain alcohol. Instead, the flavour is developed by ageing the cocoa nibs in used bourbon casks, prior to them being made into chocolate.
