More of a nugget than a bar shape this dark chocolate from Blanxart is packed with intense flavour.
The powerful layers of cocoa are infused with a roasted note reminiscent of espresso. Blanxart has added a touch of vanilla that gives the bar a surprisingly delicate and creamy quality for such a high percentage bar.
As we have come to expect from the Barcelona based maker this bar has a smooth and wonderfully buttery texture, melting beautifully on the tongue. The rich mouth-feel and flavours together produce an decadently delicious bar that is sure to tempt any dark chocolate acolyte.
Making chocolate since 1954, today Spanish maker Blanxart remains faithful to its origins; all of its packaging and boxes contains the same logo and its production is overseen by fourth generation master chocolatier Xavier Cordomi.

I personally found the bar slightly one dimensional in taste, comparable to that of commercial dark chocolate. Being a quite high cocoa bar, It lacks any real punch of acidity or fruitiness for its percentage. It's predominantly woody and ever so slightly smoky, with nothing else other than the sweetness of the sugar
