The Bonnat family have been making chocolate in Voiron, France for over 130 years. It was current head Stephane Bonnat’s parents, Raymond and Nicole Bonnat who pioneered Bonnat’s first single origin bars in the 1980’s. Stephane has continued his parent’s tradition and the company now works with 35 different plantations worldwide to produce their bars.
This bar has the creamy, buttery texture we love from Bonnat, but with an added intensity. The fruity citrus notes are unusual – somewhere between orange and bergamot, melting into lightly scented tobacco finish.

This is one of my favourite bars. The creamy texture is luxurious and there really is a slight orange flavour which is something I haven’t noticed in other chocolate, where fruity flavours tend to be less specific.
