Bullion’s simply named No 2 dark chocolate reveals the deep flavours of Bolivian cacao from Alto Beni.
The cacao for this bar comes from the Alto Beni Cacao Company in Bolivia. The beans are grown by a group of small-scale farmers who primarily rely on this harvest for their income. The beans are fermented then dried at Alto Beni’s facility to ensure consistent quality.
This bar achieved a Bronze at the Academy of Chocolate Awards 2017.
Lots of sharp berries with an acidic edge come through as soon as the bar begins to melt. A zesty citrus note follows, bringing a touch more sharpness. We detected a tangerine undertone, leading to a finish that melds fresh soil and tannins.
