The whole company has at its heart an ethos of “ethical transparency”. Mike Longman – founder and chocolate maker – is unwavering in his commitment to a truly transparent and sustainable production process, even to the point of transporting his beans to Falmouth by sailboat.
When Chocolarder decided to make this egg, they sought our a local beekeeper and found Matt Pitt. Ethical beekeeper Matt Pitt cares for his colonies of Cornish black bees by using sustainable methods that are stress and chemical free for the good health of his fuzzy compatriots. He supplies Chocolarder with fresh Cornish heather honey from which they make their own honeycomb, which delivers deep, heavy honey flavours and a pleasing crunch alongside their creamy milk chocolate.
