Description
Chocolaterie Robert, the company behind Chocolat Madagascar, is a chocolate based in the country’s capital Antananarivo. Robert has been making chocolate from local Malagasy cocoa beans since 1940 working closely with local farmers. Underneath the simple, understated packaging of this bar, you’ll find some truly exciting Madagascan chocolate that shows of the rich flavour notes the island is famous for. It has just a hint of the fruity, roasted flavour notes that are typical of cocoa from the area. While the addition of nibs give this bar an extra crunch and added intensity. Surprisingly sweet with a little nuttiness this a sure crowd pleaser.

Really delicious and moreish

Brittle little bar, presumably due to the nibs. Very faint notes of roasted hazelnuts on the nose. Starts with a lot of honey, and tingles the tongue with the nibs. Opens up to a lot of hazelnuts towards the finish. Very easy bar to eat, and fun to bit the nibs.

One of those bars that starts to melt as soon as it hits your tongue – which I like. The chocolate itself has a terrific balance between luscious richness and a more acidic, minerally edge. I am not such a fan of the nibs though, which tend to pop up at the end and distract from the lingering finish of the chocolate
