Description

The Beans

Set between the Caribbean Sea and the Pacific Ocean and crossed by a high mountain range, Costa Rica has one of the most diverse and varied ecosystems. Up until the 1980’s cacao was grown widely on the country’s Pacific and Caribbean sides. Sadly the trees were devastated by disease and many farmers switched over to farming cattle or bananas. Now with the new wave of maker and growers rising up all over the world, Costa Rican cacao is having a renaissance.

Tasting Notes:

This bar has a sweet and soft profile like toffee or milk caramel, and a creamy flavour with hints of coffee and walnut. This bar has its little bitterness and acidity from its 92% cocoa percentage. We found notes of peanuts, almonds or hazelnuts.
