    The world-famous Venezuelan cocoa that goes into this bar produces a dark chocolate that comes alive with vibrant flavours of red berries and plums. A delightfully smooth finish brings out hints of liquorice and molasses.

    ABOUT THE MAKER

    Georgia Ramon was founded in 2015 by renowned pâtissier Georg Bernadini and his partner, Ramona Gustmann, as a craft chocolate maker, shop, and café dedicated to producing the highest-quality handmade chocolate. Georg began his career as an apprentice confectioner in 1984, before going on to work as head pâtissier at the Michelin-starred Les Jardins de l’Opéra in Toulouse. Based in Siegburg, near Bonn, Georg has also used his extensive experience to write Chocolate – The Reference Standard, a comprehensive 920-page overview of the world of artisan chocolate makers.

    THE BEANS

    Chuao is a small village in the Aragua valley of northern Venezuela famed for its cocoa. Its cooperative-owned plantation produces only a small amount of cocoa each year, but it is widely recognised to be some of the highest quality cocoa in the world. So much so that the name “Chuao” is legally protected – only beans produced in this small region can claim the name, which serves as a guarantee of the high standard of cocoa beans in every bar.
