Description
Join US-based chocophile Lauren Adler of Chocolopolis and UK-based Spencer Hyman of Cocoarunners for a craft chocolate conversation and tasting on Saturday, October 9th , 6pm UK TIME/ 10am PST US TIME via Zoom. This tasting box showcases three pairs (six bars) of chocolate made with the same cacao beans by six different chocolate makers.
We’ve paired them up in a duel/dual tasting format so we can investigate how the flavour and texture of the chocolates are influenced by the makers. While a lot of cacao flavor is created during post-harvest processing (i.e., fermentation and drying), the artisan chocolate makers add more layers of flavour during roasting and refining, and they have a lot of control over texture. We’ll compare these makers’ approaches to the same cacao, and we’d love for you to taste along with us (and share your impressions on our interactive software platform)
Here’s the lineup:
- Kokoa Kamili, Tanzania – Fjak (Norway) vs. Solstice (US)
- Åkesson, Madagascar – Åkesson (France) vs. Fruition (US)
- Semuliki, Uganda – Latitude Craft Chocolate (Uganda) vs. Tosier (UK)
