The flavour of the Tien Giang Neapolitans are intense, but thanks some sweet red fruit notes, it’s a chocolate anyone can enjoy. Underneath the fruitiness you’ll find some wonderful spicy notes with a hint of cinnamon and liquorice.
The Dak Lak Neapolitans are smooth textured and buttery with a bright, fresh flavour. Light green notes reminiscent of sweet peas give way to a menthol freshness. Hints of pepper and spice on the finish, as the initially smooth chocolate melts, producing a more powdery mouth feel.
The Ba Ria Neapolitans have an intensely fruity flavour. Of course, there are no added flavours, and the deep, red fruit notes in this chocolate come entirely from the south Vietnamese Trinitario cocoa beans.
ABOUT THE MAKER
Samuel Maruta and Vincent Mourou, the founders of Marou, pay a lot of attention to ‘terroir’ in cacao. They understand that climate, soil, and water of each province, along with the different cacao varieties and post-harvest practices, contribute to the different flavour profiles of each origin – much like wine.
