About Morin
The prestigious Morin family have been making chocolate in France since 1884 and the company is now run by Franck Morin. In 1958 Franck’s grand-father, André, opened a chocolate factory and started to make bars. Morin source their cocoa beans from a range of places around the world, including Trinidad and Tobago, Ecuador, São Tomé and Principé, Madagascar, Venezuela and Jamaica.
About the cacao
This bar is crafted from beans grown by the Salazar family in the cloud forests of Costa Esmeraldas. In 2019 this Esmeraldas cacao was recognised as on of the World Top 50 by the Cacao of Excellence program. Freddy’s family estate is six years old (as of 2020) – situated on an ex-cattle ranch.
Tasting notes
Morin crafts a luscious milk chocolate, blending excellent flavourful cacao with creamy milk.

Lacking flavour, unsure how it won an award. It tastes like standard Cadbury’s or any other very low cocoa % “chocolate” you’d find in a supermarket for a much cheaper price.
