Whilst our Chocolate Library is home to bean-to-bar chocolate makers, Nadalina, crafting its chocolate in Split, Croatia, is a self-proclaimed “bean-to-music” chocolate maker. The man behind Nadalina is Marinko Biškić, a creative chocolate maker and former lead singer of Split’s first punk band: Fon Biskich & Narodno Blago.
This “Beni” bar is named after the Rio Bení, where the cacao flourishes along the river Beni. The locals call the cacao ‘Beniano’.
The aroma of this 66% dark chocolate is chocolatey with a sweet biscuity quality. The mouthfeel is creamy with a soft, smooth melt. The flavour remains intensely chocolatey, with a subtle edge of honey notes and orange blossom. These flavours remain delicate, typical of fine Bolivian cacao.
