Produced from beans from rare Arriba cacao trees and make with almond m!lk from Guara almond trees, both hosting beautiful soft blossoms, reflected in the delicate note of this bar: gianduja and barley malt.
ABOUT THE MAKER
Original Beans was founded in 2008 by Philipp Kauffmann, a former conservationist at the World Wildlife Fund and the United Nations, to be a regenerative chocolate making company that focuses on protecting farmers, the rainforest, and thousands of endangered species. Their One Bar : One Tree programme promises that a tree is planted every time an Original Beans bar is sold, which can be tracked on their website with a special code on the back of the packet.
THE BEANS
The cacao for this bar is grown by the villagers of Mono Bravo in the cloud forest reserve of Mache Chindul. With its fair prices and tree-planting initiative, Original Beans has helped the community designate 800 hectares of this special rainforest as a village forest reserve, to protect one of the most threatened rainforest ecosystems on earth.
