ABOUT THE BAR
This is quite the festive bar, a 60% dark milk that is gently scented with the warmth of nutmeg of Grenada. Grenada is referred to as the Spice Island, known for its abundance of nutmeg, cinnamon, and mace, with the nutmeg taking pride of place on the country’s flag.
Grenada, like many other Caribbean islands, relies heavily on tourism. And with the International Cocoa Organisation (ICCO) now recognising Grenada as a “fine cacao” producer, cocoa, in the recent years, has become its secret weapon.
Crafted from cacao of Crayfish Bay Organic Estate, Pump Street Chocolate’s limited edition chocolate bar is a delicate balance of milk, nutmeg spice, and cocoa. The chocolate is foremost creamy from the milk and cocoa butter, and finishes with a rich cocoa intensity and warming nutmeg.
ABOUT THE MAKERS
After a career at IBM, international jet-setter Chris Brennan briefly retired before deciding to pioneer the making of sourdough and other breads in his idyllic countryside bakery in Orford, Suffolk. Chris decided to delve into crafting award-winning chocolate, along with his daughter Joanna, in their eponymous bakery situated on Pump Street.
