Crafted on the Isle of Wight, the cocoa beans for this bar were transported from the Dominican Republic on board the Tres Hombres. This traditional wooden sailing boat has no engine but relies on the wind and the waves (to be specific the currents) to deliver its delicious cargo across the world. As a result, this bar is not only Fairtrade but almost carbon neutral as well. The beans are sourced from Conacado, a registered Fairtrade cooperative in the Dominican Republic, that is used by number of other makers including Soma, Taza and Omnom.
It’s a testament to the amount of experimentation in the world of craft milk chocolate, that Abe at Seaforth has specified that this bar was made with cow’s milk.
We are huge fans of dark milk chocolate and this bar doesn’t disappoint. The deep and rich flavours of the Dominican beans lends itself well to high percentage milk chocolate. As with Seaforth’s other Dominican bars, there is a zesty citrus note mixed in with the more typical indulgent nutty flavour we expect from Domincan beans.
A thickly textured bar with deliciously satisfying chocolate flavour. The milk gives a wonderful creaminess and just enough sweetness to make this dark milk a truly decadent treat.
