Crafted in Toronto, Soma sourced the beans in this bar from a plantation in St. Thomas Parish in the South East growing region of the island of Jamaica.
A wonderfully creamy bar with a delicious melt. At first bite you are met with a rich and incredibly chocolaty taste. As it melts sweet raspberries and wild berries rush to the surface. Wonderfully intricate floral notes unfold and release the lightest hints of spice. A pleasant and delicate finish leaves a lingering warmth on the tongue.
A truly special bar, this is our first Jamaican origin bar. Sadly, this is the last batch of bars from this particular farm that Soma will be producing owing to difficulties sourcing the bean. We hope that they will do more with this origin in the future, but in the meantime we recommend that you stock up while you still can!
This bar achieved a Bronze at the Academy of Chocolate Awards 2017 and a Silver at the International Chocolate Awards 2016.

This is not for me. It has a good snap to it, but I think I’m more of a fan of fudge or coffee notes than fruit, and this is quite fruity. The notes on the packet say “mildly smoky and pleasantly astringent”, which is accurate, but the astringency is not for me at all. It’s been open a while and I keep opening other bars rather than eat this. It’ll probably end up in a cake. Don’t be put off if you like dark and fruity though.

Surprisingly creamy for a 70% bar, lovely melting texture. Clean fruity notes, Intensely chocolatey, without the bitterness of most 70% chocolate. Sweet Fruity notes
