    This special tasting is in support of London’s oldest botanic garden, Chelsea Physic Garden, and their fundraising campaign ‘The Hothouse Challenge’, aiming to raise the final £1 million to help restore their historic glasshouses, where you can find Theobroma Cacao within their Tropical Corridor. With every one of these Chelsea Physic Garden-inspired kits sold, we will donate 15% toward The Hothouse Challenge, and for every £100 we raise the John Browne Charitable Trust will also donate another £100. 

    During the tasting we’ll take you through how to taste chocolate, how to understand the difference between taste and flavour, a bit of the history of chocolate, and why Craft Chocolate is better for you and better for the planet. We’ll also offer advice on how to read a chocolate label, and why it’s so important to know exactly where the beans were grown and exactly where the bar was made. For this tasting, we will also explore the history and medical properties of chocolate. We will discuss Chelsea Physic Garden’s benefactor, Sir Hans Sloane, and how his name was synonymous with drinking chocolate and its commercial success in Europe.

    And for those of you who have participated in one of our tastings before, now’s your chance to experience it all again with a set of very different bars, all while supporting a good cause.
