100% Cacao Chocolate Tasting
Consider yourself a dark chocolate aficionado? Join us on Wednesday 1st October for a special evening of 100% chocolate tasting. We’ll taste a range of both different origins and different makers (and their styles). We’ll use these examples to explore the difference between astringency and bitterness while assessing how texture and mouthfeel, as well as flavour, impacts our impressions.
Plus we will explore a few techniques to focus on flavour and also obviate bitterness and astringency by using cross modal senses of touch, hearing and more. And as ever, we’ll explore craft chocolate’s rich history, it’s health and environmental benefits.

In this tasting event, we’re going all in—100% cacao, that is.
We’ll dive deep into the boldest, most unadulterated expression of chocolate there is. No sugar, no additives, just pure cacao in all its complex, surprising glory.
Together, we’ll taste an array of 100% bars from some of the best craft chocolate makers from all around the world. Along the way, we’ll explore what makes this style so compelling; how different origins, processes, and maker approaches shape flavour, even with just one ingredient.
We’ll chat tannins, texture and terroir and why all of this is so important. Whether you’re a longtime fan or just 100%-curious, you’ll leave with a new appreciation for the craft, care and creativity behind these bars.
Everyone will also take home a stunning 100% bar from Marou, one of Vietnam’s most exciting chocolate makers.

- It will run from 6.30 – 8.30 including plenty of time for questions.
