About Bare Bones
From bean to bar
Bare Bones Chocolate is a micro-batch, bean to bar chocolate company based in Glasgow. As chocolate and speciality food enthusiasts, they wanted to create their own brand that was built on incredible chocolate with impeccable detail through every process. They make our chocolate in their workshop in the centre of Glasgow, in batches of around 30kg at a time. They roast their cacao on a modified Giesen coffee roaster and have engineered some of their equipment from scratch, to get the best possible quality for their batch sizes.
Meet your host
James Gatling
Digital Media & Events Manager
James may be yet another Australian in London, but don’t hold that against him. He brings a unique blend of experience in coffee, music, and marketing in his approach to craft chocolate. His passion for specialty coffee, developed through years as a barista, gives him a keen appreciation for the parallels between craft chocolate and coffee culture. In his spare time, he’s reconnecting with his Irish heritage by playing traditional music on the mandolin and tenor banjo.
