Speciality Coffee and Craft Chocolate with Maxwell Dashwood

The worlds of speciality coffee and craft chocolate have a lot in common.

Maxwell Dashwood, three-time winner of the UK Barista Championships, founder of Colonna & Small’s and author of multiple books, and Spencer Hyman, craft chocolate expert and Co-Founder of Cocoa Runners, will give you an insight into the two worlds. We’ll taste both coffee and chocolate as we go, and learn from the experts about these two widely-consumed and often misunderstood delights.

This talk will give you the opportunity to learn about the differences and similarities between craft chocolate and coffee, with a chance to ask questions. For example: what role does water play? What should we look for when buying coffee and chocolate? What can craft chocolate learn from specialty coffee?

The tasting will run from 11:15-12:00pm on Sunday 13th October, 2024 at the Fidelio Cafe, Farringdon.

• Please arrive five minutes before the event is due to start.
• The tasting will run for approximately 45 minutes.

The Cocoa Runners Craft Chocolate Fair

On 12th and 13th October, Cocoa Runners are hosting their annual Craft Chocolate Fair to kick off Chocolate Week 2024. Meet craft chocolate makers from across the UK and beyond at the indoor market, and join a series of talks, tastings and experiences in our beautiful tasting room. The event will take place at the Fidelio Cafe and Concert Venue in Farringdon, London from 11am-6pm. Attendance to the fair is free, with ticketed talks and tastings taking place across both days. Pump Street Chocolate will also be serving drinking chocolate and bringing treats from the famous Pump Street Bakery.

Following the success of the first Craft Chocolate Fair in 2023, and previous sold-out events at Canopy Market, this year’s Fair will see even more bean-to-bar chocolate makers bringing their chocolate to London, including Chocolarder, Duffy’s, Tosier, Beancraft, Land Chocolate, Dormouse and more.
