- Fidelio Cafe Farringdon, Clerkenwell Road, London, UK
Ticketing closed
Margaret Harvey MW has spent a lifetime helping people discover great wine. A pioneering champion of New Zealand wine in the UK and one of the country’s first Masters of Wine, she’s joining us for this very special wine and chocolate evening.
Our chocolate and wine pairing earlier this year sold out in record time, so we’re delighted to be back with another. We’ll be tasting six carefully selected wines, expertly paired with eight (or more) craft chocolates.
The pairings have been designed by Master of Wine Peter McCombie alongside our very own Spencer Hyman, and Margaret will act as our guide, bringing her wealth of experience, insight and infectious enthusiasm to each wine!
This tasting will be held at the beautiful Fidelio Café in Farringdon. Perfect for a date night, catch up with a long lost cousin, a mid-week shake-out, and anything in between.
About Margaret Harvey, MW
Margaret Harvey MNZM MW is one of the pioneering figures behind the success of New Zealand wine in the UK. A Master of Wine since 1991, she was the first New Zealand woman to earn the prestigious title and has spent decades championing the country’s wines on the international stage.
Originally trained as a pharmacist, Margaret moved to London from New Zealand in the 1970s before following her passion for wine. In 1986 she founded New Zealand Fine Wines, importing and introducing many of New Zealand’s leading producers to the UK market at a time when Kiwi wine was virtually unknown here. Her work helped establish New Zealand’s reputation as one of the world’s great wine-producing nations.
Alongside her work as an importer, Margaret has been a respected wine writer, judge and educator, known for making wine approachable, engaging and endlessly fascinating. In recognition of her outstanding contribution to New Zealand wine, she was appointed a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit (MNZM) and was later made an Honorary Life Member of New Zealand Winegrowers.
With decades of experience, a remarkable story to tell and an infectious enthusiasm for great wine, Margaret is the perfect guide for an evening of discovering exceptional wine and chocolate pairings.
