About Santu Coffee
Brazil’s best coffees. Roasted in Edinburgh.
Santu was founded in Edinburgh in 2018 by a Brazilian and a Brit. After years living and working in the mountains of Brazil, they set up their roastery in Scotland and import all their coffees direct trade from farmers they know personally back in Espirito Santo.
They roast at their beautiful headquarters, an old city washhouse on Union Street in Edinburgh, which has a coffee bar so the public can experience the whole process from green bean to cup. They also have a small coffee bar on the Royal Mile.
Meet your host
James Gatling
Digital Media & Events Manager
James may be yet another Australian in London, but don’t hold that against him. He brings a unique blend of experience in coffee, music, and marketing in his approach to craft chocolate. His passion for specialty coffee, developed through years as a barista, gives him a keen appreciation for the parallels between craft chocolate and coffee culture. In his spare time, he’s reconnecting with his Irish heritage by playing traditional music on the mandolin and tenor banjo.
