NearyNogs – “Old Fashioned Irish” Whisky & Orange, Dark 70%
NearyNogs in Northern Ireland created this bar as part of their ‘Irish Collection’, ‘a series of bars inspired out of a love of local traditions and timeless classics.’ The 70% Dominican chocolate is combined with burnt sugar, orange bitters and Irish whisky to make an ‘Old fashioned Irish’. It was an award-winner at the 2023 Eurobean craft chocolate festival, and rightly so.
Omnom – Dark Nibs with Raspberries (Winter Collection)
This dark bar is made with Madagascan beans, sprinkled with more Madagascan nibs as well as deliciously tart raspberry.
Omnom – Milk & Cookies – (Winter Collection)
Onto its smooth milk chocolate, Omnom has perfectly placed its oat and almond cookies. The cookies have grated orange peel, sea salt from Saltverk and warming winter spices that balance blissfully with the Madagascan milk chocolate.
Sweet, lightly fruity and a little spicy, we think this bar would go perfectly with milk-based coffee. The Icelandic milk has a distinctive and unique flavour that we just love at Cocoa Runners.
Chocolarder – Almond Honey Nougatine, Milk 50%
This classic combination is made the traditional Chocolarder way, with Cornish Black Bee Honey, toasted almonds sail-shipped from Spain, nougatine made in house using local free-range eggs, and unrefined sugar from a green harvest project in Brazil. The Dominican cocoa beans have been chosen for their smooth nutty profile, giving the perfect backdrop for that array of flavours to shine.
Zotter – Espresso Macchiato Bar
A creamy, gently sweet coffee ganache has been mixed with dark chocolate and a dash of milk. It’s coated with a wafer-thin layer of white chocolate and covered overall with a classic 70% dark chocolate.
Menakao – Milk 45%
Let a piece of this award-winning milk chocolate melt on your tongue and prepare to be amazed. As it melts, the rich, chocolatey flavour comes alive with a burst of red fruit and citrus notes. That fruity edge is typical of cocoa from the island of Madagascar, but it’s unusual to find it in a milk chocolate.
Jordi’s – Dark 67% with Cocoa Nibs
This 67% dark chocolate is loaded with cocoa nibs (roasted pieces of cocoa bean) for a delicious crunch, and has a deep, spicy flavour with notes of rum and whiskey (even though there’s no actual alcohol in it).
Chocolarder – Maleku, Costa Rica, Dark 70%
A bar with an incredible story, made to showcase the irresistible flavour of these Costa Rican cocoa beans. In the early 1980s, Costa Rica’s cacao was devastated by the fungus “Monilia,” which spread throughout the country’s huge cacao fields, killing tens of thousands of hectares of cacao crop. Rich cocoa flavours with notes of coffee, fig and caramelised banana.
Chocolarder – White 40%, Roasted Chestnuts
In the words of Chocolarder, this 40% white chocolate bar is “an embodiment of winter comfort.” And we agree. It’s the creamy texture and warming chestnut flavour, balancing of nutty tones and sweetness, and the finishing of a soft smokiness that makes it feel so comforting.
