This intense 100% bar from Latitude is made from the beans grown, fermented, dried and transformed into this chocolate bar all on site in Semuliki, Uganda. Enjoy chocolate in its purest form – just cacao beans.

ABOUT THE MAKER

Latitude was founded by Jeff Steinberg in 2016, in the small Ugandan town of Kasese. It’s come a long way since then, growing from only 3 people (including Jeff) into a thriving Certified B Corp run by 25 full-time Ugandan staff. But the mission at the heart of Latitude has stayed the same: “Our bottom line is (and always will be) quantified by how many households we work with and what we are doing for them.”

THE BEANS

The beans in this bar were sourced from Semuliki Forest Cacao, a grower-centred fermentery that works with over one thousand small-scale organic cocoa farmers. It lies in Bundibugyo, a district of western Uganda that borders the Semuliki National Park. Renowned for its cocoa production, the district also neighbours the Rwenzori Mountains, a diverse ecosystem that is legendary for holding the source of the Nile River.
