A luxury dark chocolate bar from bean to bar maker Askinosie.
Shawn Askinosie was a criminal defence lawyer for 20 years before he decided to change from the criminal bar to making chocolate bars.
The Puentespinas hail from Malagos farms, situatedgrown in the foothills of Mt. Talomo, Davao in the southern Philippines. Rex, along with his mother Charita, started making chocolate over a decade ago in 2003 when they took over some nearby land that had cacao trees.
This 77% dark chocolate bar is made with beans from Rex’s plantations in The Philippines. It has a higher percentage of cacao than Rex’s bar – and has no vanilla. Consequently the aroma of dried fruit and nutmeg & balsamic flavour notes shine through from the outset.
This bar is certified kosher, organic and gluten free.

We've been rating our bars on our regular deliveries for the past 6 months now. This bar scored a healthy 9 out of 10. Complex yet unusual, and has notes to savour.

I really enjoyed this bar! I love how, if you read the back, it also tells a story. The person smiling at you from the wrapper is an actual farmer who helped making this chocolate. It's a brillant idea and it makes you appreciate the chocolate that you are holing in your hands a lot more! When I read this I stopped for a moment to thank him for his effort.
