Perfect for a dinner party or eating over a few sittings, these slightly salted dark chocolate coated Italian almonds have been made by Chocolarder’s talented team of chocolate makers in Falmouth. The nuts tumble around in the chocolate as it sets, leaving them polishing against each other to leave an even layer of chocolate around the nut, and are finished with a sprinkle of Chocolarder’s pressed cocoa powder.

About the maker

Chocolarder crafts its chocolate in Falmouth, Cornwall. Chocolarder’s exciting line of fine single-origin bars and delightfully innovative locally-inspired inclusions use only top quality ingredients that succeed in doing better for the environment and the communities at their source. The whole company has at its heart an ethos of “ethical transparency”. Mike Longman – founder and chocolate maker – is unwavering in his commitment to a truly transparent and sustainable production process, even to the point of transporting his beans to Falmouth by sailboat.

The beans

In 2016 the Femmes de Virunga project was launched, the first ever female-led cacao cooperative in the world, and in one of the most dangerous places to be a woman. The project educates and supports the female farmers, helping them to provide for and support their families. The project has also supported the planting of hundreds of thousands of trees in the Virunga National Park, the oldest in Africa. Since the project started in 2016 more than a quarter of a million cacao trees have been planted and there are over 1500 women farmers in the cooperative.
