About the bar

Fjak’s 70% Tanzanian dark bar is smooth and fruity. The chocolate has a great melt and is well rounded, with notes of cherries, coffee and a slightly astringent finish.

About the maker

Fjak crafts its small-batch chocolate in the depths of Hardangerfjord in Norway. Agur and Siv started making chocolate in 2015, but it was only in 2017 – after much experimenting and fine-tuning their processes – that they launched to immediate success. They’ve swept the board since then, picking up awards galore with their unique Nordic-inspired flavour combinations and exquisite single-origin dark and milk bars.

The beans

The beans for this bar are made exclusively with cocoa from 3 women headed farms in Tanzania. The Sisters at Mbingu, also run an orphanage, nursery, girls secondary school, clinic, and some other projects in the area. The second farmer is Anna Muyesi, and the third farm is run by Sarah Maglass. The beans have an extra cost per kilo, which is used to support a scholarship program that pays for 10 students from the village area to finish high school.
