Description

ABOUT THE BAR

This smooth 70% dark chocolate bar from Manoa is sweet and earthy, with notes of strawberry, macadamia nuts and hints of sweet vanilla.

ABOUT THE MAKER

Manoa was founded by Dylan Butterbaugh and Daniel O’Doherty. The pair use a variety of different locally sourced ingredients in their bars, which they craft in Kailua on Oahu island. All of Manoa’s bars are sourced from local farmers in Hamakua, Waiahole, Maunawili and Haiku. Hawaii is the only American state where cacao is grown.

ABOUT THE BEANS

Located on the west side of Hawai’i Island (the Big Island), Kealakekua is hot and dry. Normally, cacao trees would be unable to survive in the harsh lava field conditions, but with irrigation they thrive. The cacao for this chocolate bar is farmed, fermented and dried by the Hard Rock Gardens Estate in Kealakekua.
