Description
An aromatic dark chocolate with a touch of fresh cream and spiced biscuits. Yellow peppers, earthy vegetables and menthol give the chocolate a herbal note.
Unwrap the simple yet stylish packaging and you’ll discover a truly beautiful bar. Mucho’s custom mould was designed with the help of leading Mexican artists and designers. The overlapping design is inspired by the outline of a freshly cut cacao pod.
Mexico has a claim to be one of the historic homes of cacao. Sadly, Mexican chocolate’s renown has faded in recent years. Ana, Mucho’s founder is hoping to revive Mexico’s former glory. Mucho is based in Mexico City but sources beans from farmers in different provinces. The beans from this bar comes from Tapachula in Chiapas.
This Mucho Tapachula won Bronze at the Academy of Chocolate Awards 2017.

I like the elegant packaging of this chocolate and the unusual opening. Mexico has a fascinating heritage of chocolate and the texture of this bar has an interesting granular quality that gives it a basic, traditional feel. The flavour is quite mild, with coffee, liquorice and dark berries. It’s very tasty.
