These makers have all included sweet and savoury baked goods in their craft chocolate bars, with a range of interesting flavour and texture results. This collection showcases some excellent examples of how bread and pastries can make delicious craft chocolate.

Pump Street – Rye Crumb and Sea Salt, Ecuador, Milk 60%

Rye Crumb is an intriguing inclusion. It gives the chocolate a sharp crunch and distinctive toasted taste that works incredibly well with the salt, which in turn cuts beautifully through the rich milk chocolate.

Hasnaâ – Canelé, Fazenda Camboa, Brazil, Dark Milk 55%

If you have a sweet tooth, you’ll love this bar. We could immediately recognise the canelé flavour – think caramel, custard, vanilla, and a sugary texture with a bit of crunch!

Chocokoo – Costa Rica, Dark 70% with Rye Bread

Dark rye sourdough studs this 70% Costa Rican chocolate, expressing the uniting of Estonian culture and Costa Rica’s new found love for growing cacao. The bar itself was the official chocolate of Estonian presidency of the EU in 2017.

Pump Street – Sourdough & Sea Salt, Dark 66%

Sourdough is an intriguing inclusion. It gives the chocolate a gentle crunch and pleasant yeasty taste that works incredibly well with the salt. This sourdough bar surpassed our expectations and is one of the most moreish bars in the Pump Street range.
