ABOUT THE BARS
The 73% bar is a deliciously resonant chocolate that offers a bold aroma of dark fruits whilst tasting notes of peaches, plums, rye bread and subtle undertones of red wine and tannins create a complex richness to this bar. We also detect an intricately balanced, sherbet acidity which perfectly complements the richness of this chocolate.
The 50% Nicaraguan Milk chocolate is no exception to Omnom’s focus upon quality. This bar is deliciously smooth and fudge-like in texture whilst also exhibiting opulent flavours of caramel, malt and biscuits. The natural flavours of the Nicaraguan cocoa are used in perfect harmony with cocoa butter and milk in this bar to create a chocolate that is expertly balanced and deliciously indulgent.
ABOUT THE MAKER
Omnom is one of Iceland’s first small batch artisan chocolate makers. Co-founder Kjartan Gislason worked as a chef across Europe for nearly two decades before discovering the bean to bar chocolate movement that was starting in the USA. As a chef, Kkartan was already familiar with single estate chocolate produced by Valhrona, but even he was amazed when saw the flavours and textures that could be achieved at such a small scale.
Omnom’s passion for making chocolate for the lesser served Icelandic palette shines through in their unique flavour combinations. When we first tasted the milk chocolate, we detected hints of the fermented milk so often found in this northern nation. Never one to shy away from bold flavour pairings, their truly unique combination of chocolate and liquorice is a best seller in its native Iceland.
