    This vegan bar from Zotter is certainly unique. The chocolate is made from 60% cocoa, and 40% oat milk drink, without any additional sugar – the oat milk drink that Zotter has added to this chocolate brings a mild level of sweetness, meaning that extra sugar doesn’t have to be added.

    About the maker

    Josef Zotter is one of the long-established heroes of the craft chocolate movement. He has been producing chocolate since 1992, became famous for his wacky flavour combinations (scarlet runner bean and coriander pastry, anyone?), and was one of the earliest to produce 100% Organic and Fairtrade products. He has worked tirelessly to improve the lives of his growers around the world, engaging in numerous initiatives in Latin America, Africa, and Southeast Asia. He also runs an outstanding chocolate factory visitor experience – The Zotter Experience – that is a must-see for any chocolate-loving visitors to Austria.

What do other people who've discovered Zotter - Pangoa, Peru, Oat Milk 60%/40% with no added sugar have to say?

This is a wonderful addition to the Zotter range of chocolate with no sugar added (or sweeteners). I already love the 70%/30% bars by Zotter and the 80% 20% bars (both of which have no added sugar and are very smooth, with a real depth of flavour without being tart). This has a sweetness due to the fermented oats, but it is not as sweet as the bars that Zotter makes, which have either date sugar or coconut sugar as sweeteners. It is an ideal bar of chocolate flavour and sweetness wise, the missing step between the stronger bars and sweetened chocolate. I will be buying it again and recommending it to friends.
