Join Spencer Hyman and David Nilsen for an online pairing of beer and chocolate at 5pm GMT on Saturday 16th November.
David Nilsen, an award-winning member of the North American Guild of Beer Writers and author of Pairing Beer & Chocolate: A Guide to Bringing the Flavors of Craft Beer and Craft Chocolate, has decades of experience as a beer educator and writer. He’ll join Spencer to discuss how to pair craft chocolate and craft beer, the best way to approach them both and to explore some delicious pairings.
You can purchase the chocolate bars below. If you’d like to taste the beer pairings, here’s what we will be trying:
- A hazy pale ale (e.g. Deya – Steady Rolling Man)
- A flanders red ale – David’s advice is ‘if you have a bottle shop that carries Belgian styles, they should have a few. Rodenbach Grand Cru or Duchesse de Bourgogne would be best’.
