Tanzanian dark chocolate, using beans sourced directly from farmers in Mababu, is infused with malted milk.
This creamy bar is given a wonderful sweet malted barley flavour by the milk, the sweetness perfectly balanced by dark chocolate. Subtle hints of red berries are mixed with hints of vanilla and honey to create a rich and irresistible dark milk bar.
Part of Askinosie’s CollaBARation series, the team joined forces with Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams to created this fabulously flavourful bar. Just like Askinosie’s chocolate, Jeni’s ice cream uses simple, carefully sourced ingredients to create its incredible ice creams. Jeni’s pasteurize raw milk and cream from small herds of grass-pastured cows (at farm within a two hundred mile radius of their factory) to make their intensely creamy, milky ice creams.
This bar is certified kosher and organic.

It was much darker than I expected but that’s a good thing (sort of) as couldn’t eat a lot in one go. I didn’t find it all that malty.

The malt flavour was too subtle for me as I really wanted to be smacked between the eyes with it! The overall bar is very nice, a lovely smooth texture, and for American chocolate it is definitely worthy of respect! If you’re after a really malty experience, it’s maybe not worth your taste buds, but I am interested to try some of their other bars!

I received this chocolate today, meant to just eat two squares and have eaten half the bar (and it’s only 9pm). It is fabulous!
