Heinde & Verre’s Mellow & Wild Papua Milk 55% chocolate bar combines creamy Dutch full-cream milk with wild cacao from West Papua, Indonesia. This fusion results in a harmonious blend of flavours, reminiscent of hot chocolate with hazelnuts and cream, complemented by notes of caramel, banana, liquorice, black tea, and subtle spices. ​

About the maker

Dutch business partners, Heinde & Verre are the Netherlands’ latest excellent craft chocolate makers, developing incredible bars with unique recipes. Established in 2019, they have been growing rapidly expanding their bar catalogue, inventing new recipes and sourcing more wonderful cacao.

With a commitment to ethical sourcing, minimal processing, and a passion for chocolate innovation, Heinde & Verre continues to push the boundaries of European bean-to-bar chocolate-making.

About the beans

The cacao originates from the Ebier Suth Cokran cooperative, established in 2017 near Ransiki village in West Papua. This cooperative employs around 200 locals who cultivate cacao in a sustainable agro-forestry system within one of the world’s largest rainforests. The beans, hybrids of Forastero and Trinitario varieties, are fermented for six days in a central facility and sun-dried for 5 to 7 days, ensuring their unique flavour profile.
