TASTING NOTES
This dark chocolate bar from our Northern Irish makers NearyNógs is a delight for the senses. Its intensely rich chocolate brownie flavour is enhanced by an incredible fudgy texture, with a slight graininess that complements the deep flavours.
ABOUT THE MAKER
NearyNógs was founded in 2011 by the husband-and-wife team of Shane and Dorothy Neary. Situated in County Down at the base of the Mourne Mountains and overlooking the Irish Sea, NearyNógs is dedicated to bringing you delicious, ethically sourced chocolate.
THE BEANS
NearyNógs’ Hispaniola beans are sourced directly by Fernandez Badia of Agrocacao from a single-estate small family cacao farm in San Francisco de Macoris, Dominican Republic. The beans are then hand-sorted to ensure only the very best make it into their bars. The result is an exquisite finish with incredible flavours in every bar – a real Irish gem of a bar.

So, my bar says “San Francisco de Macoris” on it but I can’t find it on the site so I’m leaving the review here – amazingly rich and creamy even though I was expecting grittyness as it’s stone ground. Will likely be trying out other offerings from this brand!

Tasty, but with a slightly rough/grainy texture
