About the maker

Cacaosuyo is a chocolate maker with a simple mission: to make the best chocolate in Peru. Cacaosuyo produces chocolate from tree to bar. It works with small producers to select the trees where the cacao is harvested so as to guarantee the cacao’s traceability. This means that the genetics and variety of the cacao in Cacaosuyo’s bars are unique, reflecting the incredible ancient heritage of the trees and the families who harvest them.

THE BEANS

The beans for this bar were sourced from the Quillabamba Valley below Machu Pichu in the Cusco region of Peru – some of the cacao trees are up to 200 years old.
