TASTING NOTES
This milk-coloured, creamy dark bar enjoys the best of Manufaktura’s signature slightly grainy texture. A wonderful buttery nutty flavour profile melts away into succulent forest fruits on the finish.
ABOUT THE MAKER
Manufaktura Czekolady was Poland’s first single-origin, artisan chocolate maker when it was founded in 2009 by IT professionals Krzysztof Stypułkowski and Tomek Sienkiewicz. Through their range of single-origin bars, Christopher and Thomas tell a chocolate story about the flavours of different regions and about how chocolate is made. Open the packaging of any bar and you will find a diagram that shows you all the steps involved in their chocolate making, which they do by hand in a traditional way similar to that of 150 years ago.
THE BEANS
The beans in this bar are grown on Finca La Rioja, a nine-hectare estate in Cacahoatan, Mexico. Boasting over 4000 years of continual cocoa production, the Chiapas region is the source of the very first cocoa beans to travel to Europe in the early 16th century. The farm is very proud of its chocolate growing heritage, noting that Cacahoatan means “place of cacao” in the ancient Toltec language.
