About the bar

The beans that are used to make DesBarres’ 72% Philippines dark bar have a wonderfully nutty flavour. The bar is creamy with a base note of hazelnut and a top note of tropical fruit, which reminds us of a classic PB&J experience.

About the maker

Founded by Erik and Ariane Hansen in 2015, DesBarres is a micro-batch manufacturer of single origin, bean to bar chocolate, sourcing direct trade cacao from around the world. DesBarres makes its chocolate with uncompromising attention to detail in order to create the very best chocolate experience. Using only cacao and organic cane sugar, DesBarres coaxes out the plethora of wonderful flavours of the cacao it sources.

The beans

Sourced by Uncommon Cacao, Kablon Farms is a 70 acre biodiverse sustainable farm, located in Davao, The Philippines. The Pantua family own the farm, with the eldest son Ernesto Pantua Jr. managing the crop production. Ernesto has a degree in agricultural engineering and upbringing on cacao and coconut farms.
