About the bar

This is a Cocoa Runners exclusive bar from Heinde & Verre, made with two different harvests from Piura, Peru. One bar was harvested under regular weather conditions during spring 2025 with tasting notes of red berry, gooseberry, and loquat. The other bar was harvested during the El Niño storm in autumn 2023, with creamier notes and soft white fruit flavours that finish with a herbal note.

This rare Piura bean won Silver in the Cacao of Excellence Awards in 2021.

About the maker

Dutch business partners, Heinde & Verre are the Netherlands’ latest excellent craft chocolate makers, developing incredible bars with unique recipes. Established in 2019, they have been growing rapidly expanding their bar catalogue, inventing new recipes and sourcing more wonderful cacao.

The beans

These Gran Nativo Blanco beans were sourced from the Piura Valley of northern Peru. Rediscovered in 2008, the varietal was reintroduced to the region with the help of the Norandino Cooperative, founded in 1995 and now serving over 7,000 smallholder cocoa, coffee, and sugar farmers.
