Unwrap this bar, inhale the aroma and let yourself be taken on a chocolate adventure from the snowy peaks of Iceland to the sun drenched Kilombero Valley on Tanzania. The first thing to note about the chocolate is the custom mould, where the unusual geometric pattern adds the final stylish touch to Omnom’s already award-winning packaging. At 65%, this is very much a dark milk chocolate. The high cocoa content gives the bar a richness, while the addition of milk creates a thick and indulgent texture. As you take a bite, the chocolate melts softly, almost like a piece of fudge, and filling your mouth with flavour.

Omnom describes its bars as tasting like ‘a brownie’. We agree that there is something deeply chocolatey about the bar. A distinctive note of muscovado adds another layer of decadent flavour.

About the maker

Formed from a true passion for flavour, Icelandic Producers Omnom are one of Iceland’s first small batch, craft chocolate producers. Omnom’s focus upon both simplicity and experimentation is unique. Whilst renowned for their unusual flavour pairings, Omnom’s emphasis on bringing forward the natural flavours of high quality cocoa beans remains succinct throughout their bars.

The beans

The beans for this bar are sourced from Kokoa Kamili, a social enterprise fermentary who operate by purchasing ‘wet’ cocoa beans directly from smallholder farmers, and then ferment and dry the beans following its post-harvest protocol. The cacao beans are all sourced from the Kilombero Valley, Morogoro Region, so as to raise the profile of Tanzanian cocoa.
