Description

Latitude – Semuliki, Uganda 70%

From Uganda-based maker Latitude comes a bar which brings together local flavours into one delectable experience. Here, they have blended the bright and nutty cocoa of the Semuliki Forest, with Arabica coffee from the Rwenzori Mountains. Together, these flavours give a thoroughly Ugandan tasting experience.

Original Beans – Cru Udzungwa

This bar from Amsterdam-based Original Beans presents the gorgeous flavour of Tanzanian cocoa beans. With hints of orange, apricot, and toffee, the chocolate is a rich tasting experience, but the bar also has ground cocoa nibs permeating it, providing a more complex, earthy texture.

Chocolate Makers Awajún Peru Dark Milk 52%

Dutch chocolate makers, aptly named Chocolate Makers, have created a rich and supremely creamy milk chocolate with cocoa beans from Peru. This is a powerful 52% dark milk chocolate bar made from Peruvian Criollo beans. Strong tastes of cocoa are lifted with a subtle hint of red fruit which gives way to a delightfully nutty aftertaste. This is one you’re sure to remember.

Luisa Abram – Cassipore, Brazil 81% Dark

This bar has a wonderful creamy melt. It has a flavour profile of citrus, aromatic liquorice and spices, with a tannic backdrop.  Also amazing length with no bitterness despite being a 81%.

Cocoa Retreat – Mono Bravo, Esmereldas Ecuador, Dark 68%

This single-origin, micro batch Dark 68% bar is formed of organic Nacional Venezolano Amarillo cacao, which has been awarded a spot in the World Top 50 Cacao of Excellence. Expect gorgeous notes of treacle toffee, baked red fruits and nuts to linger on the tongue.
