Print / PDFHalloween Craft Chocolate Collection
Indulge this Halloween with this craft chocolate collection! A fantastic present to gift this spooky season, or a great treat for yourself.
We have put together 4 delicious bars, each with a small nod to Halloween and its various traditions. We have included white, milk, and dark in this collection so you can enjoy the full craft chocolate spectrum.
Deluxe Halloween Craft Chocolate Collection
This is the perfect box for those who want to share treats, not tricks, this Halloween season.
Much like our 4 bar Halloween collection, this box includes white, milk, and dark bars so you can get into the spirit of Halloween with the full craft chocolate spectrum.
Omnom - Coffee and Milk
This luxury white chocolate is ground with coffee beans, creating a bar reminiscent of coffee buttercream. This bars’ geometric bat packaging made us question why these furry creatures have become the poster animal for Halloween. Three species of bat are blood-drinkers, influencing Bram Stoker to include them in his novel Dracula (1897), where he depicted vampires shapeshifting into bats.
Taza - Mexicano Cacao Puro
Taza simply grinds its organic cocoa beans with cane sugar and spice in a traditional Mexican stone mill called a molino, creating its signature gritty texture. Mexican traditions are also prevalent at Halloween, with Día de Los Muertos (Day of the Dead) being celebrated on All Saints’ Day. This is a national holiday that joyfully celebrates the lives of lost loved ones.
Hogarth - Peru, Milk 45% with Sweet Potato Crisps
Kumara, or sweet potatoes, are a prominent crop in New Zealand. This bar is a nod to the classic sweet potato pie, eaten during the Halloween and Christmas seasons – expect caramel and fruity notes in this deliciously smooth milk chocolate.
BOHO - Milk Chocolate with Potato Chips
You might not associate this bar with Halloween on first glance – it’s smooth milky chocolate is sprinkled liberally with potato chips. But around Halloween, it was a tradition that the Irish would carve scary faces into potatoes to scare away an evil spirit named ‘Stingy Jack’ – making the well-known Jack-‘o’-lanterns into Jack-‘o’-spuds!
Fu Wan - #9 Ping-Tung, Double Ferment Dark 70%
This richly chocolatey bar is sweet and citrusy, much like a candied apple! Double fermentation builds on the already rich cocoa flavour created through the first stage of cocoa fermentation in the chocolate-making process. The beans for this bar have been fermented twice and roughly ground, with tasting notes of strawberry, sherbet, candyfloss, and tart apple.
Mike & Becky - Oko Caribe, Dominican Republic, Dark 70%
Mike & Becky only use beetroot sugar in their bars – historically, one of England’s Halloween customs, called ‘Mischief Night’, involved carving faces onto beetroots known as ‘punkies’. The bar is also smoky and rich, which is perfect for the Halloween season.
NearyNogs - 'Old Fashioned Irish' Whisky & Orange, Dark 70%
Seeing as Halloween is considered to have originated in Ireland, it’s only right to include a bar from Irish makers NearyNogs. NearyNogs in Northern Ireland created this bar as part of their ‘Irish Collection’, ‘a series of bars inspired out of a love of local traditions and timeless classics.’ The 70% Dominican chocolate is combined with burnt sugar, orange bitters and Irish whisky to make an ‘Old fashioned Irish’. It was an award-winner at the 2023 Eurobean craft chocolate festival, and rightly so.
Original Beans - Beni Wild Harvest, Dark 66%
We’ve included this bar in our Halloween list because not only does it taste good, but it’s orange! This smooth dark bar made from wild Bolivian beans enjoys tropical highs of honey, apricot, and orange. Swiss chocolate doesn’t get better than this.
Fruition - Madagascar, Dark 74%
Fruition’s Dark 74% bar doesn’t just taste delicious, but it’s purple!
This fruit-forward dark chocolate is creamy in mouthfeel and delectably playful on the palate. Expect to experience high notes of raspberries and citrus and a grounding chocolate flavour in the finish.
