Fjak’s Dark 100% is made from beans grown, fermented, dried and modelled into the bar on site in the Semuliki forest, Uganda.  Enjoy chocolate in its purest form – just cacao beans.

About the maker

Fjak crafts its small-batch chocolate in the depths of Hardangerfjord in Norway. Agur and Siv started making chocolate in 2015, but it was only in 2017 – after much experimenting and fine-tuning their processes – that they launched to immediate success. They’ve swept the board since then, picking up awards galore with their unique Nordic-inspired flavour combinations and exquisite single-origin dark and milk bars.

The beans

The beans for this bar were cultivated in the Semuliki Forest in Uganda. The cacao is grown by 1,002 organic Semuliki smallholder famers, 52% of which are women. Latitude Trace Co. (LTC), the company which processes and exports this cacao, has introduced 6 rural collection points to ensure easy access for the farmers, enabling them to sell fresh cacao every week into the network and receive their payment directly when they sell. LTC’s centralised fermentation facility and warehouse is located in the village of Bumate, which sits at the base of the hills leading into the mountains.
