A 65% dark milk made exclusively for Cocoa Runners, this bar has a woody profile with notes of liquorice and citrus. It’s reminiscent of the smell of light sawdust, with a pleasant smokiness on the finish too.
ABOUT THE MAKER
Chocolate Naive was founded by Domantas Užpalis in 2011 with the belief that only the best ingredients in the world are capable of making great chocolate. Naive has close relationships with all of its suppliers, visiting each of them at least once a year. They must be committed to sustainable growing practices and strong environmental management, for which they are rewarded by payment at least 40% above the market price.
The beans in this bar are sourced from Karimui, a remote highland region of Papua New Guinea accessible only by foot or by air. The beans grow on farms over 800m above sea level – far higher than commonly thought possible – and their high quality was recognised at the 2019 Cocoa of Excellence Awards.
