    Standout Chocolate launched into the craft chocolate scene as a one-man-band in 2018. Fredrik Martinsson, Standout’s founder, crafts his chocolate in Kållered, sourcing his cacao directly from co-operatives and farmers from all over the world.

    For this bar, Standout has sourced its cacao from Lachuá, Guatemala via Uncommon Cacao. The cacao has been produced and harvested by Cacao Verapaz. Cacao Verapaz currently partners with six smallholder farmer associations and two private estates to source high quality, centrally-fermented, and high-impact Guatemalan cacaos.

    Fredrik says that “the 2017 harvest from the Lachuá region in Guatemala is truly amazing. Bright fruitiness with high astringency and acidity, with notes of tropical juice, citrus and black tea.”

    Our thoughts?

    This 70% dark chocolate is vibrant from the get go. We get the tropical and citrus juiciness and acidity, with the grounding tea leaf astringency and rich cocoa body.
