The understated bar reveals the flavour notes that Madagascan cacao is famous for. The supremely buttery chocolate has a delicate berry aroma. We found the milk also gave a panna cotta flavour to the dark milk chocolate bar.

About the maker

Chocolaterie Robert, the company behind Chocolat Madagascar, is a chocolate based in the country’s capital Antananarivo. Robert has been making chocolate from local Malagasy cocoa beans since 1940, working closely with local farmers.

I like this. A buttery texture and a nice level of bitterness with hints of the berry flavours of the Madagascan beans. Very different from the Menakao milk 45%. Very enjoyable.

This might be the best milk chocolate I’ve ever tasted. And I’ve had a lot. Probably a hundred different ones from Cocoa Runners’ selection alone. This is wonderfully rich and hugely satisfying.
