TASTING NOTES
This smooth dark Hungarian bar is so creamy that it reminds us of milk chocolate. A pleasant leathery aroma melts into depths of black pepper and hazelnut, making it a bar sure to be enjoyed by milk chocolate and dark chocolate lovers alike.
ABOUT THE MAKER
The husband-and-wife team of Zsolt Szabad and Katalin Csiszar founded Rózsavölgyi Csokoládé in Budapest in 2004. Zsolt, a mechanical engineer, and Katalin, a graphic designer, are the perfect combination for producing chocolate bars that are as stunning to look at as they are to eat. All of Rózsavölgyi Csokoládé’s bars are moulded to look like an old fireplace tile and hand-wrapped in beautifully thick printed paper. The result is half-way between a chocolate bar and work of art.
THE BEANS
The beans for this bar are grown in the foggy mountains of northern Nicaragua. Weekly harvests from small farms – usually less than 3.5 hectares – are collected and centrally fermented, where these special beans acquire the flavour profile that makes them sought after by chocolate makers around the world.
